Nam,
Sorry that you got a ticket for no front license plate the other day. Did they pull you over for just that or is the ticket in conjuction with something else like speeding? I always feel that I'm taking a chance but I like the look.
Thanks,
Chef

yeah, it was a speeding ticket, i luckly got clocked at 103 mph, $600 ticket + 40 hours pickin up trash on the highway. good thing he gave me a ticket instead of arresting me.

Ouch! Invest in a valentine 1. With it I regularly go 120 in a 60 on my way to work (for those in Irvine, its Jamboree between the 5 and Barranca). Its so nice since Irvine/Tustin PD use laser mostly.

Ouch, I'm sorry that you got a ticket! I've regular driven 130mph and am lucky that I've never been caught. Maybe I need to relax a little on the throttle. I'm glad you only got a ticket and some community service. I've spent some 40+ hours picking up trash at the Zoo before myself for similar reasons. I guess the no front plate charge looks fairly insignificant though? Better to fix it now and get on with making amends to the state. I understand.
Good luck with it all!

I've hit the 130 mark prior to the REVO. I now have no limiter, so I'm free to lay into the car. It would scare me to go much faster in the LA area and I couldn't afford the lawyer and penalty for such a daring jaunt. The car is very smooth at 130mph and could grip and handle much more without a problem as long as you didn't try and take a corner too fast, turn the wheel to suddenly, and got rubber with at least a Z rating. The current Y tires aren't rated beyond the 130mph mark. I think the A3 would top out at around 160mph. Way too scary fast for LA drivers and roads! Look at the Enzo and what happened to it at 163mph!
Maybe a more daring soul than me can try it and post the results.
Cheers!

my cousin has a motorbike, he bragged about going 180, someday, i'd like to brag back at him. i hit 130 before the chip, but haven't found room to hit 130 after the chip yet, although i hit 125, then i ran out of highway space. how'd you get the limiter off? did it come with the chip? what happened to the Enzo?

The speed limiter was removed with the chip.
Check out the website
www.wreckexotics.com There was a $1millon Enzo Ferrari that a guy wrecked on the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu a month or two ago. He was doing an estimated 163mph and the car was totally demolished, but he walked away. Check out the pictures and you wouldn't believe anyone could survive. There's more to the story but it's on the website.
You'll need more than an A3 if you want to break the 180mph brag record!
Good luck.

Audinam,
I think we need to rally some support and have a June SoCal GTG. What do you think?
We now have several A3's in the area and we can start representing at these events. All of those A4 guys tend to rule the lot and it'd be nice to have several smaller, much faster cars there to show them up. Healthy competition, right? T2T, You, and I all have modded A3's so it would be cool to all gather. Maybe we can get Panda and Turbo involved for the A4's? Also, maybe, we could get some out of towners to drive long distances for the event. Maybe some hot Audis like a S4 Cab or something???
Just make sure you keep all of the female waitstaff away from me, I'm too vulnerable and fragile at the moment. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to me. LOL
Seriously, let's do this!

If you can wait until July, there's the DubWars 2006 in Fontana. Great GTG for VW and Audi folks. Or, if that's too far, maybe Stand's on June 20th in the valley. Always a great GTG for Audi's.

where's the Stand gtg?

The Stand, 17000 Ventura Blvd., Encino
Every 3rd Tuesday of the month.
http://www.sccaudi.com/articles.asp?id=131 We can also meet at Dromo 1 in Anahiem. There we can show off our cars, then go inside and do some cart racing. That way, we can show our driving skills without damaging our cars or take the chance of getting a ticket (which happened at another GTG).
