I have a A4 Quattro 96 2.8L . my q is that what kind of engine tuning can i make on this car?

yes, he is correct, about all you can do is exhaust, intake, electric fan upgrade, and then if you are lucky enough and can find some of Mance's pats (like TBs and hi flow MAF's) then you can gain a little bit and smooth out the power but basically you are stuck with the 176CHP that the 96 comes with.

If you want to spend a lot of money try PES for a supercharger kit. It boosts the power a lot, but"$". B.

^Won't work. PES kit is for the 30v DOHC 2.8 V6, which uses a Bosch ECU. The 12v SOHC 2.8 V6 in 1996-97 A4's uses a Hitachi ECU which cannot be reprogrammed, so to make the PES S/C work you'd have to implement a piggybacked standalone engine management system. Too expensive to be worth the bother.
