I've been big into the Mustang seen for a few years and have been in the DSM seen for years and I still am to this day..  With the Mustang and much more on the DSMs, there are lots of free mods you can do to them.  Examples are things that can be removed to gain power, emissions etc.  I'm not worried about any emissions as long as it wont throw a CEL.  If theres a way to get rid of the CEL then thats fine.

Only mod to the engine now is a K&N I got for $30.  What else can I do to the car that is cheap an/or free?

Thanks,
Mike

Asuming you have a 1.8t theres the air box mod just use the surch button for that. Theres not really to much you can do. I would suggest lookin around at www.audidiy.com they got some good stuff. If your good at welding you could make your own test pipe that could help you out.

There have been some "easter egg" threads here before, with listings of all kinds of little things people discovered about the cars.  They may not be power mods, but they're cool.  Check out this one (there's at least one other that you can probably find through the Search feature too):

freeish mods consist of an MBC, boost gauge, and you can also gut your cat.  you could pick this stuff up off ebay for like $50 or so, maybe less if you can find it local used

install a boost gauge, $80 (for a good one, with a mount(well worth the investment))
MBC (don't do it unless your chipped or can do a diode mod(search), other wise you might over boost and jack ur sh!t up)
airbox mod will allow you to hear your turbo (if u got one)
test pipe with the non-fouler diy or hi-flow cat (will sqeez a few ponies, on a stock system but will be needed for further moding)
