Any red lovers?

I am not even sure how it came to this but suddenly I am considering a red A3! I have not been a fan of owning a red ride but
something about this A3 just looks very cool. Anyone like this combo?

I love that color on the A3 although I can't justify getting it and having the damn CHP pull me over on the highways...they seem to be attracted to it like moths to a flame.

Red with the titanium package looks good! Black and white, and black and red are my two fav. color combos.
My last car was red. Never had any issues with the cops. In fact, the 3 years I owned the car I was never pulled over.

red was one of my choices and i cant stand primary colors. it was either white, silver... then red... and finally settled with blue at the last minute. Hate how it looks as of now, but I know once its done, its gonna be a scary beast... so thats why i went with blue.
but go for it! thats a hot combo as it is.

Ive never been a fan of red cars but that looks pretty awsome. Make sure you look at the lava grey and brilliant black a3's with the titanum package :)

thanks for the feedback, I had heard the same myth about red cars, more tickets! Here is choice B, also pretty cool, more stealth.

I'm definitely a "red car kinda guy" having had several over the years. I really like the "Garnet Red Pearl Effect" of my '06, especially with the beige interior - bright enough with out being over-the-top. Finding that color combination in a CPO was the motivation to buy a car several months before I'd planned to. Unfortunately, that color is no longer available in the US market.

The red looks pretty tight (especially with the Ti package). I don't know if I could live with it. The lava grey on the other hand looks great but is the most common color. I've got the grey and now I sorta wish I got a silver which strangely enough haven't seen many of those.

Ha. With the grass being greener on the other side, isn't this always the case?
Lava Grey here and wishing I got the Red or the Sprint Blue actually!
My buddy had an old Red A4 and he constantly kept getting tickets (I remember at least 5 in 2 yrs span) on the 280 driving from SF to MV. He's got a stealth, debadged Black S4 which he just did some weird ass paint job on the grill. He has only got a ticket once in the 3 yrs since owning it.

Black with TI package gets my vote :)
I was on a decision between the lava grey and black at the dealer when I had to make my final choice but im such a sucker for black cars so I had to go with the black.

I'd love a red w/ tan interior, but where I live the 'myth' about red=more tickets is true! My first car, a red base-model Celica (severely underpowered) got me pulled more often than my subsequent cars combined...and back then I'd hardly ever go 5 mph over the speed limit!

Things I like in Red: Katchup, hot sauces, my girlfriend, other peoples hot girlfriends (dont tell mine), shoes as long as they are for bowling, Redskins Jerseys (side note go skins beat dem seahawks!), hmm that is about it I guess
Things I dont like in Red: Ugly/fat girls, Apples (green ones are the best), cars, blood, hair, hot sauces that cause me to poo red, necks, i guess that is about it

Red=more tickets certainly isn't a myth. I distinctly remember an article where they interviewed various police forces, and they admitted as much. White interestingly, had a real-world speed limit of +10 over a red car.
There are other things to consider, like type of car. eg. Any riced out car, you know the usual garbage - slammed, rolling on barrels, massive wings mounted on 12" penis extensions etc.. will attract any and all attention from the police. doesn't matter what colour it is.
Or age.. the police will always pay a lot of attention to you if you're clearly a teen driver. Or even driving behaviour, doesn't matter what car or colour you're in if you're maneuvering aggressively in traffic.
Anyways.. about the red A3. I'm a fan of red myself, but it doesn't seem to work for this car.. it just seems too.. adolescent. Red works perfectly on sports cars, but the A3 is much more than just narrow-minded sports performance.
I read a similar article, perhaps the same one, in Maxim a few years back. The officer they interviewed also said that for some reason radar is less effective on dark colored vehicles.
Otherwise, I think that red w/ titanium is a great combo! (Then again, I can't think of too many A3's I didn't like

)

I got red. Love it more every day. Red does not mean tickets. There was a time when that was true. Not anymore. This coming from an inside source.

Brodieone, how do you know about more tickets no longer being true? It looks like my wife is leaning towards the red one, and really its her car so whatever is cool with me. However do you think
the red might make it more "steal'able" ? That is to say do think it might attract "negative" attention? I was thinking about that today but not really sure?
If I were going to steal a car, I'd do the opposite -- go for something less noticeable. But then again, I'm no car thief so the point I'm making is probably moot.

actually you guys and gals should check out the white A3 with the Open Sky options.
I walked into the dealership today to have another look at the A3, and my jaw dropped.
Most of the roof is tinted glass, with just a black-painted section at the back, and the contrast was just STUNNING

Agree. I heard a statistic (in traffic school

) that silver is now the color most ticketed for speeding, nothing to do with color, just that now that there are more of those on the road than other colors (California). More depends on your driving.
I like the red A3, they're not too common IMO.

regardless of what generation of cars we're talking about, red has always been under-represented on the road. We're not talking about a horse race to see which gets the most tickets, but about attracting uneccessary attention from the popo. It's enough to say if you're a family in a red family sedan with toys and crap on the back window, you wouldn't have to worry like 16y.o. joe flatfoot in his red mustang.
An interesting aside about Silver, it is statistically the most dangerous color for traffic accidents because of the way it blends in with the road and city environment.

Duc_748 - Basically a friend in the police department and also insurance company both told me the same thing about red equalling more tickets. It really depends on how you are driving. As far as stealable, I don't know but I can't imagine someone would steal a red car, they are so easily spotted if being looked for I would assume.
