My A6 has started to make a clunky rattle when driving over bumps / pot holes. Sounds like it is coming from the nearside front, I can't make out what is causing it.

Any ideas?

Hi All,

New member here.  I am a former owner of a 2000 A6 2.7T.  It was the best car I ever owned.  That's why I joined and want to hang around.  So don't flame me!

However, I recently traded my A6.  It had 95,000 miles.  However, when it had about 50,000 miles, I heard the same clunking noise.  The problem was upper control arms.  Just out of warranty.

Hope yours is something else. (less expensive)

Problem was diagnosed as cracked bush mountings on the anti rollbar

£24 each plus £120 labour at an Audi dealer ouch

They now want to charge me £200 to re-set and align the multi link suspension!!!
