So, what do you think about Danica Patrick. She seems to have a legitimate chance at Indy. She has a good team, car and skills.
I think she is going to need more experience before she can win Indy, but I think she has the potential, and has a really good shot at being the first women to win Indy. Maybe a couple of years down the line. It would be fantastic for the sport.

LOL!!!!!! I doubt she has a chance, she needs more experience. Who knows, maybe starting from Patrick's pole several times she could gain the experience!

anyone see the crash she was in,in one of the earlier races. And heres any interesting fact she works for my dad's company or their son's company. He works for the father company, I've met here a couple of times (when in toyota atlantic). I think in a few years she will have her time. My brother met her a few weeks ago at the Indy in Japan. I'll be at the race this weekend at the Brickyard. Anyone else going?

if she was a fat girl, no one woudl care about her...the only reason ANYONE cares, is because shes a POA.

Troo, but, if she WERE a "weight-challenged" American she wudn't fit in a ChampCar cockpit (<heh, heh-heh> I said cockpit), so it'd be a kinda moot point. And, really, I think the only reason we (here, at AF) care is because she's a POA that poses half-nude!

Equal cars, on public roads, I'd clean her clock and mail the leftover pieces back to her. But, given that my avitar is a self-portrait, she's a little bit hotter than I am...

Look at Janet Guthrie...(well, don't look too long)...she recieved allot of press, when she was the first women at indy...she was not a POA....not even close. Any women that can qualify 4th at indy would be getting press. The fact that she is a little POA and has a personality just makes everything move even faster...A media/public relations wet dream. The girl has talent and looks (although she is not that hot...but hot enough).
Anyway, indy has a way of being cruel to the in-experienced. But in a couple of years I think she will have a very good chance.

hmm..it would be interesting to see her do well...
however, we are onyl assumign that she could outdrive anyone here...in a open wheel car, yes...probably...but who knows, we could have some amazing drivers here who just havent met the right people yet.

I think it is pretty safe to assume she could easily outdrive anyone here. She paid her dues in carts, then went to england and raced for 3-4 years then back to the states in formula atlantic. No one is making it to that level unless they have lots of skill or BIG CASH.
I am sure there are some good drivers here with skills, but I would be very surprised if they were close the that level.

I've got close to 20 years of high-speed (150mph and up) experience on the autobahns/stradas/routes of Europe. And, NO PIT CREW to fix **** that breaks.
You ain't LIVED until you've had a truck (doin, mebbee 50mph) pull out on you (doin, mebbee 170mph) with not enough shoulder on one side and a tree-line on the other... Do YOU know how to threshold brake? ABS takes all the terror out of it, nowadays. I did that more times than I care to remember, back when only Merc's and Saabs had ABS. Cudn't afford one, cudn't stand teh other.
Me and 4 Porsches (2 Carreras, a 928, and a 944 turbo) in the 150-180mph range, traffic-riddled 3-lane highway (an hour North of Frankfurt, on the A5). Hills... Uneven pavement... Less than a car length between each of us... I was rollin in my Opel Calibra (yes, it was teh Turbo model, thanks for asking)...
170mph on A67... Slicing and dicing with a kitted SL500, just for gits and shiggles... Me'n my Calibra held our own, and them some...
Heppenheim to Stuttgart, or vice-versa, 2-mebbee 3 times a week. Doit in unnder an hour (I ALWAYS did, well, except when they had construction on teh tunnel). You've even got a choice of two routes, but, timewise, they're about even.
On a racetrack everybody is going about the same speed and has roughly the same level of committment and concentration going on. As I said. Equal cars; public roads; normal traffic; I smoke her like the cheap cigar she is... 9 times outta 10!

Can anyone on this forum beat Michael Schumacher or Jeff Gordon? Qualifying for the Indy 500 with a 227.004 is quite impressive...

I am new hear, but that kind of talk makes me laugh. If you are better than her, you should be out there on the track now making the big money. Why aren't you? I am not trying to be a dick at all, but it does take a tremendous amount of skill to drive Indy, and I am not even a fan. AJ Foyt, probably the greatest Indy driver ever, was sick of people saying he couldn't drive, or compete in other races because Indy racing wasn't hard. So what did he do, entered the 24hr of LeMans, one time, won it, said it was way to easy, then got back to Indy racing. I think its unfair to dismiss her so easily. She has qualified, you have not. Until you do, at Indy, Kart, or some other major organizition, my money is she could outdrive you. And yes, she is a decent POA.

FTR, I've driven teh "ring" at Hockenheim. Me'n my Calibra. Street car, totally stock, street tires, street suspension, street gas... Lap times good enough to qual for the old DTM championship (albeit dead last in the field) they used to hold there. So, yeah, I think I could take her on a regular road, with traffic and schitt.
I ain't racin cause, back when I tried to get into it "y'all" din't cotton to my kind. Bein from onna them thar big 'ol northern cities, and bein colored and all. That was a very long time ago. All of my championships have come in other venues. When you gets a l'il more hair on your chest mebbee I'll share some stories witcha. I'll try not to scare you too much... Why do they call ya thunder light, anyway? You know you gotsta bring a$$ to get a$$.
Course, you mooks wudn't pay to see me on the cova of no magazine.

I'm not here to throw insults around and get into a pissing contest, I was just pointing out a few facts, and opinions. As far as my name, its just my gaming name. As for chest hair, my wife thinks there is plenty of that and my son loves to pull it to torture me. If you are wanting to know about any more of my bodily features, well quite frankly thats none of your damn business. So because you are black you gave up? Good thing guys like Jackie Robinson, Bill Russell Grant Fuhr and others of African decent didn't do the same. I am also from a very northern big city so cut that crap out.
