Debadging

Okay now I have heard it being thrown around and I have a pretty good idea as to what it is but correct me if I am wrong.... Is debadging taking off all idicators of what the car is???For example taking off audi and a4 on the back as well as the logo???

If this is true how exactly do u do it??????

In my opinion debadging just means taking off the emblems of the car in order to make it look cleaner. To what extend? It is up to the owner as some preffer to keep the rings on and some want to remove the rings off.
 
This topic has been covered many times but as to how to do it, there is a DIY article in the DIY section of this forum.
 
Debadging basically consisted of heating the emblems (can be done with hair dryer), removing the emblems, and at the very last removing the left over glue (could be done with lots of ways; GooGone for one example).

^^is your black factory, to be honest I've been wanting to debadge for the longest time, but I'm rally afraid that my 12yr old paint job will look different under the the badges, and IMO the badge placement on the 96s and those one (i don't know when they changed to the badges lower on the trunk) look pretty good.

It only took me about a half a hour on the whole process and there is no scratches,ghost images, or any indication that the emblems were even there... If later it rains and the water outlines where the emblems were then just another wax job should get rid of that and you will be all set...

Yes, my car is 100% Audi Brilliant Black. The passenger side was repainted a couple months ago to get rid of that scratch, but they did a near perfect job matching the paint, so there's no noticeable difference. If you get real close; like within a foot of the trunk, you can kind of see the outlines where the badges used to be. It's not really faded or anything, it looks to me like it's just stuff that gathered along the edges of the badges over time and just adhered to the clear coat. I've scrubbed them over several times with Goo-Gone and car soap, and as long as you're not REALLY looking for it, you can't see it.
 
And I think they changed the badge placement in the mid-1998 model year.

and also your name is awesome, I'm guessing you ski/snowboard maybe, because thats the only place I know steeze to be a common term

yea i skate, wakeboard, wakeskate, but snowboard mostly... i picked the woord up a dew seasons back and people started sayin how steezy my clothes and audi was so i got the nicknamed steezy or da steeze haha... So now thats my plates also haha... but idk if ill keep that name up once i go to florida... the steeze there rolls real hard...
