My beater avant has quite a few dents and dings on it, some larger than others. Today while chasing the ABS module controller I got a little carried away and took the fender off to fix one of the bigger dents.

Mostly just taking off the paint rubs improved the looks. But with a carefully applied hammer I got it fair bit straighter. Still plenty of ripples at the edges but I'd need to bondo and respray to get those. Maybe that'll happen if I ever fix the huge paint chip on my hood. Anyway I thought I'd show off my handy work.

Stupid question but was it easy to remove? I was thinking about finding one in a junk yard for a 2000 A4 that is silver since my fender looks just about like that as well.

Not sure how I'm going to do the passenger side door since that got clipped as well (both passenger and passenger door)

Very nicely done!!  +1 for pictures back on the car.

And as I've said many times before, still lovin' the TR6.

But do you know how easy it is to remove the fender? is it held by screws?

Sorry, can't say that I've ever had to remove one of my fenders, so I'm not sure.

I did it once, took me only about two/three hours not really knowing how to do it. Kind of a process though. You need to remove the front bumper, the wheel shrowd, and a bunch of bolts all around there and some on the door frame. If you just remove some bolts and trying pulling and seeing where it is stuck and then remove those it will eventually come off.

with a hammer lol I doubt that unless a panel beater did it and resprayed it ( I did notice the scratches on the first picture ) and you dont het them out with a hammer

The above picture it seems like you can remove it without the front bumper being taken off..

Hmm something fun to do on those long summer days.. I'm going to need to do something with the passenger door as well.

ok to clarify, it was hammer with a nice big smooth surface. and i was using some large sockets as dollys since i didn't have any of the proper tools

also I just kind of got lucky that it looked ok afterwards. There's still some ripples in it, they just didnt' show up that very much in the picture. And the scratches were taken care of with rubbing compound.

CTDriver, yeah its just held on by 10-12 bolts something like that. You don't have to take the front bumper all the way off, just unhook the front corner and pull it back to get at the bolts back there. You have to remove the inner fender plastic, and also the baffle that goes between the fender and the kick panels. A couple of the the bolts are trickey to get at, but its not that bad at all as far as body panels go.
