i have an 2007 audi a3 2.0t dsg@ around 3k. getting weird noise from engine compartment. it doesnt sound like a turbo but it sounds like "kheeeeeee..Kheeeee ". not sure how i could explain it. I hear it sometimes on other a3's but just not as obvious and not all the time. seems like my dv is recirculating air to my engine when gear shifting at lower rpms (2800-3200). Turbo spools and that weird dv sound disappears at higher rpms. I heard the a3's are programmed to recirculate air or divert air when less boost is needed and thus that weird sound. I think its kinda exaggerrated on mine tho coz i drove an 2007 audi a3 2.0t sline and it had the same sound but not as often and not as loud as mine. do they not have the same programming? the turbo seems to be much more prominent on the s-line i drove. maybe the dv is covering the turbo spooling sound on my 2.0t. Either way doesnt sound good. Any ideas?

I have not heard any weird noises from my 07 A3, I have about 4k. Can you get to a dealer when it's making the noise?

Check out  http://www.audiforums.com/m_526541/tm.htm But yours being 07 should already have the "C" DV. Seems low miles, but maybe time for us to uprade. Chef?

I don't think it's anything to worry about.   Just ask the shop on your next service.   If you don't have any mods, then there really shouldn't be a problem at this point.
