Drove the new EVO

ok i should have posted this last week but when igot home i was jsut too tired and forgot, anyways i was detailing several cars for Mitsubishi and we were down to the last one for the day and i had to have it back by 8 so i could pick up my car. anyways the car they bring out to me is the new EVO X. i was like holy ****, trying not to grin too much. anyways long story short even though i shouldnt have, i drove the **** out of that car, while i highly doubt the mitsu AWD would do what quattro does in snow it was still very good and the active diff was amazing, i freaking want that car, the only thing i didnt like was the color (white) very hard to get clean espcially since this one had rail dust all over it.

Thats really sweet I want to drive one of those.

So it's pretty fast right? I think those have like 300hp and 300tq.

Nice dude, those cars are fun. I drove an EVO VIII the other day at my friends dad's dealership, and it was really quick.

too bad the interior of those cars look like they were designed by fisher price... I guess everything looks shoddy to me after being spoiled by an audi interior!

my friend took one for a spin it had 20 miles on the clock and it gets a cel it wont rev past 3k and horribly after this, he said his evo 9 was a better car he setled for a 335ci

Honestly Id take an evo IX over a X, but that fact that you have driven any evo makes you cooler than me

i think the 8 is better than both personally

but i hvnt driven a 10 yet

yeah interior wasent that great, typical mitsu interior but the way the car handled and the acceleration was did it for me, given id still take home my audi because it paid off and not a really a douchebag car, plus a much better interior.

The X's have a nicer interior than the previous ones by far.  The active Yawn control makes it perform great in the turns and will be great in the snow like the rally car it is

Not going up a hill(i hope, otherwise i will have to look into it) the interior was nicer but not by much.

in 06 i drove an evo 9 and i almost killed my self and the car....... i spooled up the turbo and let out the clutch, got the back straight, but because of the steering wheel being cocked a little to the left, the car started pulling left which would have taken me into oncoming traffic........ i really did underestimate the power of that 4 door sedan.......

 
i had driven up to that point the c6 vet, alot of other yr vets, vipers, 03 cobras, ferrari's... (i was actually in an area where i took a ws6 and did a brake stand so bad, that i sat a block up the street and for about 5 minutes i could not see any traffic behind me, actually had people pull up to the stop sign and didn't know they were there till they passed through the "Smoke")......... but i thought, this isn't a "Sports" car........ well i was wrong.....


so i grabbed another salesman, young guy...... and took him for a spin... he was like holly fu(k this is bad a$$.... i let him behind the wheel of the car........ and by the time he was done with it, if i wanted to buy an evo it would definatly not have been that car......... i think he shortened the already short life of the evo clutch by at least half



so morale of the stort is, if you want an evo...... check out the clutch before you buy one, cause stupid sales people/detailers will play with these cars, and they have junk clutches........ lol

I think the new body-style is a set up for the base model Lancer but a step down for the EVOs. If I were to buy one I'd like an VIII and the interior wouldn't be my basis for buying one. You can mod the hell out of them but in reality you could just get a set of summer wheels and tint and call it good. They're fast and look good right out of the box.

oh no doubt the new evos you can hardly tell if its and evo or a regular lancer (thats what i thought when i first saw it) and if you buy it i doubt it because you want a nice luxury car. and whiel the older evos are still cooler the X's are just so teched up its made to make people with poor driving abilities to think they have some special powers, so the X's may become a douchebag car, unless its a true enthusist.
