Is that true, and has anyone here done that? I am going with the stage 1 APR for numerous reasons. I know everyone recommends changing the DV after this mod.

Also, I want to stick with the stage 1 mod, but would a new filter(K&N) or any other nickel/dime stuff get me anymore gains?

Yes, all the 1.8t dv's are the same.  No, unless you filter is severly dirty, it wont gain you anything really.

If i'm not mistaken, TT's use n75 valve, which is OK to run with a stage 1 or stage 1+.
I remember people saying some stuff about K&N filters that they have to much oil in it. But i also remember some guys putting them under the sun light for a couple of days so that oil can dry out.

The Bosch 710 is more robust, but if you're going to replace it you may as well throw something nicer in there! This was actually the very first mod I did to my car. Once you get past the one time use hose clamps its pretty easy to do. I went with the Forge 007 but there are a ton of good valves out there.

As far as the K&N goes, its an easy upgrade and I haven't found any good reason to continue using the factory filters.
