engine light and code question.

drivin along today on my way to work, engine light comes on, car doesnt seem any diffrent, so i just kinda keep babying her to work. get here friend comes with an obd2 reader and pulls a code p0171 and it says something about running lean. wondering if anyone can give me some insite on whats actually wrong and what i need to do.

Check for vacuum leaks.

no leaks i can find. after i erase the code car runs fine.
