So I am looking at getting an Audi A4. I have learned that a major maintenance around 100k miles needs to be done replacing the timing belt and the water pump. Well at least what I have seen so far. I have also heard the Audi's have electrical problems. What years should I look at and what years should I stay away from in the A4 and possibly A6? I am sure there are some knowledgeable people that can give me so pointers and tips. Thanks in advance. Also

Your best bet is to search here on forums, like problems with my b6 (2002-2005.5)
Yes timing belt has to be changed somewhere in 80k-90k interval, depending how your car was driven. When you do the timing belt, you also gotta change a water pump with new one + tensioner + new coolant.
About electrical problems, you know, you might have a lot of those, you might have one once in a while.
But as i said before, searching really helps to find a useful info :)))
