I was wondering if any of you are experiencing problems with your new A3, and how well they are solved by the dealership. My A3 is a bit over a week old, with about 700 miles on it (purchased with 137 miles). Within the past few days, I've noticed a very loud rattling in the area of the glove box. Apparently, other people have had this issue as well, with mixed reports of sucess. In addition to this, my "switchblade" key doesn't open properly...you have to press the release button, then press in on the key itself for it to pop open.

All in all, I have to say I'm rather let down. I do love my car, but having two completely unrelated problems arrise within a week of purchasing it is a bit much. I've owned a series of American cars before this forray into the German offerings, and have never experienced issues like this under 100,000 miles, let alone 1,000. Any feedback?

how great
i have the EXACT same color as you moro blue except mine is a DSG and premium but i've been driving it for around 14,OOO now and many problems have occurred
they had to fix hell a lot of stuff for my engine since the engine light keep lighting up and kept my car for 3 weeks
now, "same as before", my car has huge rattling sounds near the glovebox area during IDLE......ONLY IDLE
so when i step on the gas
there is no rattling
is that the same problem as you?
i would like to know wth is wrong with it too

You have a 2006 A3 with 140,000, miles?

I've had mine for 2 1/2 months and about 4k miles with absolutely no issues, rattles, hums, etc.

Sorry guys.

Cheers!

am also getting an annoying rattling sound coming from either the glove compartment or the passenger seat (i think there is a compartment underneath that that could be rattling)? Anyway it doesnt make a difference how slow/fast I go or even if im idle... but its getting damn annoying!

EDIT- I own an Audi A3 1.6 attraction (3-door)
