Hi,

My 2002 A4 1.8T windshield washer seems to have stopped working. Couple of days ago, I tried using it to clean some bugs of the windshield. The wipers moved up and down but nothing came out of the washer jets. I thought maybe I ran out of washer fluid. So I filled up the reservoir with washer fluid. Still no luck.

Appreciate your advice here.

clogged? maybe even frozen? check under the hood and disconnect the hose/tubing that goes to the washers. Hit the washer stalk and see if any fluid comes out. whether ir leaks or streams. Possibly see if you turn ignition on and then have someone hit the washer stalk while you try to hear the pump for the fluid turn on. Id also check for a fuse.

I just ran into the same problem and have no pump noise. I looked for a fuse but I am not finding one unless its hidden some damn place :-)

Ya, I'm running into the exact same issue.   For awhile they were just loosing pressure, and then stopped all together....thought the tank was empty, but it's full.  I'll check my pump tomorrow--any ideas on cost if it comes to replacing that???

Same issues here. I took a look at the fuse panel to the left of the dash and I could not find the position for the fuse. Does anyone know which position number it is? I would like to check the fuse first...

#37 fuse should cover the washer pump.

Winshield pump is around $20. You can get it from any car parts store. I just replaced 1999 A6 it was $17. and you have to take bottom cover off. then look for it. It is easy to change.
Before you replace please check fuses.

Same issue here with an 02 1.8T.

Replaced fuse #37 with a 20amp and the washer fluid-pumps worked.

Turned on the headlights to see if the headlight washers would also work and the fuse blew again.

Any thoughts? try a 15amp fuse? is there a different fuse for the headlight washers? did I miss a recall?

Hey Everyone,
I had the same issue with my 2003 A4 1.8TQ 2 weeks ago. To validate info, the correct fuse position is #37 and is located in the fuse panel to the left of the steering wheel. My car had a 25 Amp fuse in it. I replaced it with a 25 Amp fuse and everything works fine now. Some will advise you to go to a 30 Amp fuse to avoid blowing it in the future, but I believe Audi used a 25 Amp fuse for a reason so I stuck with it. Besides, if it blows again, the 5 pack of fuses that I bought was $3.50 from Autozone so it is not that big of a deal. Good Luck!

While my windshield wipers and fluid still work, the headlight washers do not.  I have checked the fuse and it is not blown.  My manual indicates that whenever I have the car running with my lights on and spray my windows, the headlight washers should pop up and spray the lights also.  These do not.  Any ideas?
