why wouldn't you want to drive a "standard", lol. it's so much more fun than a granny panties auto, it's your choice so do what you want, but you'll regret it. good luck with the sell.

Give the guy a break! he obviously doesn't like his manual, and wants to go for a tiptronic. Who is anybody to question if somebody is gay, or question his manhood because he wants a tip?

Grow up people. Wether somebody wants a tip or a manual is personal choice.

ITs a V6, doesnt really need a manual to hold huge power. Who cares

well i guess i started all this... but ive never really heard this complaint before... i would seriously consider the choice you are making... test drive your exact car in tip and notice the shift differences... its just not the same vehicle... from a standstill, the tiptronic is a dog, and i mean a big dog. The shifts take hours with the stock tip computer setup... Unless you are commuting in serious traffic everyday (where its actually bad for a manual), then it doesnt make too much sense... having been on here awhile, ive seen many posts start out saying, "my cars a tip, i know, first mistake."... I know we all say "to each his/her own" alot, but put some thought into it first.
wanting to swap a manual for a tiptronic is kind of like that 700hp honda quote... shocking at first but still gay... tell me to grow up if you like, but in actuality, i have an extremely valid point.

Its "having a 700whp honda is like coming out of the closet, shocking at first, but still gay"
Many people at a point dont like manuals and dont find the need for one. I personally can stand to drive a auto and hopefully wont reach the point where i want a tip/auto car for a long time. When i was younger, my mom got mad at me for buying a stick in my last car i bought new off the lot. He reason was that no one else in the house could drive it. Like i wanted them to drive my car.

Personally, I'd rather drive a stick. My first car was an automatic, but all the rest of my cars have been stick. Good luck with selling your car, but before you do, test drive a tip to see if you like it or not.

i dunno...i think it boils down to just driving an automatic in the end. ya manual is great, but sometimes i get so tired have to drive just to get home isnt relaxing. it also depends in where you live like in cities thats just stop, and go.

lol same here. and she reiterates it every time i buy another one
i've been driving my friends auto around while my car is torn apart and while it was nice being able to relax and multi-task like crazy, i would hate owning one

I don't think going from a manual car to an automatic is worth it by any means.. you lose a lot and gain a little.
Sure like chaoss said its nice to multitask and put your mind on other things than shifting, but really.. that isn't to safe.
Unless you have hard hour + commutes in heavy traffic I say reconsider it, test drive the tip.. and really ask yourself if its worth it. Because I personally will never drive an auto car, we'll not untill I'm 30 or older and just sick of it. I'm sure its possible to get like that?

idk like the actual driving of a manual isnt really what bothers me. What bothers me is that for what ever reason i cannon shift this car smoothly through all gears on a consistant basis... No i dont think that its the car, its me getting use to it and trying everything i can think of and trying every way you guys have told me and everyone else i know tells me, i just cant get it down and it really drives me nuts. Call me psyco if need be but i am to the point, where like tonight, well early morning, 2:00 am

cant sleep because idk what else i can do and for the amount of money i make and for the amount of money i am paying out for this car just in payments ontop of mortgage cell phone blah blah we all have the same bills just some make more than others, not to mention when the maintenance bug stings me i ask myself.. is it really worth it?

try not releasing hte clutch as fast between shifts. that might help with the smoothness. also if you shift faster the rpms dont have a chance to drop as far. its like rev matching for an up shift

sounds like you either haven't gotten used to the clutch yet, or there is something wrong with it....
have a close friend give you a quick lesson or two....It takes time to get used to anything, but it shouldn't take more than a few days to get completely comfortable with your clutch, unless this is your first standard transmission and no one has yet to teach you....
like jeff said, slow down clutch release (let off clutch slowly and gently)
use an equilibrium, as you release the clutch give it gas, watch your rpms...when they begin to drop that means your clutch is engaging...
gl!
stick w ur 6 speed...if you granny shift it, you'll save big on gas bills
