Hi guys. I have had a bunch of issues with my car boosting right and I finally want to fix it to it's full potential. It all started with a broken turbo actuator giving me 0 boost. Fixed that. So now I get some boost, but I should be getting more. I have the Speedtuning chip and am boosting 10psi MAX (That means chip is working). So, I narrowed it down to the N75. I am planning to simply install a MBC and turn the boost up to the ~16psi that the chip was programed to. What do you guys think of me doing this? Good/ bad? Please give me opinions! Thanks.

bad.... you should figure out the low boost issue first and fix it, then if you want more, crank up the boost a very small amount. If you just turn it up six pounds, while the computer is giving timing and fuel for 10psi, you will definitly pull timing and be raplacing your valves at least.

Sounds like you have a boost leak somewhere. As for that, it isn't a good idea. A lot of people run a diode mod, which I'm doing-but before doing that you want to make sure to run logs, find any boost leaks, etc.

he has a 1998, diode doesnt apply to him.

Definitely no boost/ vacuum leaks as the shop tested for those. Disconecting the N75 dosen't really change anything either.

UPDATE: So I tried to disconnect the vacuum hose from the actuator to the N75 to test it. When I did this, I boosted close to 15psi. Now is it safe to say that the N75 is toast and I could install a MBC in it's place? Thanks.

yes, but leave the n75 plugged in so you don't get a cell, also tune the mbcin small incriments so you don't over boost your engine, give the computer time to adjust for fueling.

hmm. i have the same prolbem, but i also dont have a n75, i have the forge 007p. you think its safe for me to run a mbc also? cause i was looking into doing it anyway.

Not sure exactly what you mean here. Its always safe to run a boost controller as long as you dont overdo it and connect it properly
