but i have had alot of people tell me there were problems with them and i think i got an email from apr(or someone else posted it), cause i bought some stuff saying there was a recall on the r1's

There was one batch of R1s that were faulty, but there was a recall on it wayyyyyy long ago. I'd say a good five months ago.
Mikey, you can take off your DV and clean it if you want. They're diaphragm-based as opposed to piston-based, so nothing will jam up, and you don't need to clean it out. You can if it makes you feel better though
