Just got mine in the mail today.  I'm not really concerned about it, cause I have a CPO... but it's nice to know that AOA is looking out for us.

You think I could get my coolant flange $ reimbursed?

Wow, cost me 8 bucks to do it myself. Yeah, they are really looking out for us. Now, if they would cover the poorly designed water pump that I had to have replaced at 98,000 miles, THAT would be looking out for us!

Yeah I got that letter, I took it to the dealership, but one of the techs left the parking break off and my audi rolled and hit a wall.
they repainted the front bumper and then fixed a ding in my door for free b/c they had extra paint on hand.

No, i think it is not a Recall, it just extends your warranty on that specific part and tells you if u have already paid for one to repalce at the Dealer, they will give u refund.

The letter I got said it was a recall, it said SOME models are bad. They ran a few tests and said I was alright.
I have an 02 under 60K, so we will see once I get up around 100K.

I have a 1.8t, and I received the letter.  I'm guessing that if you haven't received a notice from AOA, that you didn't buy your car from a dealer.

I bought mine straight from the previous owner, and my letter showed up yesterday. The only records AoA would have of me is the couple times I've picked up parts from the local stealerships.

Didn't get my 03' A4 1.8t Q from a dealer and got the "letter" last week for AOA......looks like an extended warranty on a emission control device. Sounds like it sensor does effect the engine preformance if it fails.

How would that make more sense? And why would they go through the effort to bother the DMV for information they already have in their systems? Why would the DMV even let them have access to those records?

do you still get the letter if your not the original purchaser?
audiprotein

Yes, if it is documented that you are the current owner of a car.
