Whats the deal with the people who only have to have 1 on the rear. What is the criteria for only being able to have 1 instead of 2? Im in MA, dunno if its different state to state.

I think its different state to state. Here in PA its only rear, in NJ and NY its both.

in ma you have to have two plates....ive been running a euro plate up front for over a year now and no probs.  if the police nab you with "no" front plate it's a moveing violation and goes on your insurance.  most states are now have to a two plate system.  the only ones who legaly can have 1 plate in ma are the people who still have the green plates from the 80's

Some people don't have to have 2 plates, and have new ones. To get them is prob the same as getting the low number plates.

I'm in MA too.

all plates in ma are issued in pairs.... if they dont have a front one they are driving illegaly..as i said before excluding green ones.

the low # plates are only given out if you request one...same as a vanity plate...i belive most of thoes are used

I live in CT have only had 1 plate on my cars for the past 10 years with no problem. (even with 5 Traffic stops) I have never gotten a ticket. Just written or verbal warnings for speeding.
