HOLY CRAP, YOU MADE IT NIGHT TIME

Listen, just because the whole forum bows down at your feet doesn't mean I'll stand for your sassy mouth. You'll be punished if you keep it up.

But yeah, the sun pretty much does rise and set at my command.

Probably 3 hours, but I had to stop several times to improvise. The aluminum I bought to make brackets was too thick and I could not for the life of me drill a hole through it so I had to hunt for something better. If I had magically had everything I needed, it probably would have taken an hour and a half.

You have more DIY skills than any woman I know.  Good job.  Its funny because you put so many of our other male members to shame in that respect.  Awesome.

I should introduce you to my girlfriend. She replaced the cam gears on my Miata with adjustable ones, and advanced the timing by 10 degrees and all I had to do was show her how to set the torque wrench.

The grilles and lights are OEM, courtesy of ThePaintballGuy and his FMIC.

=as soon as one of you fellas wants to bulletproof my tranny and buy me a supercharger . Or as soon as I win the lottery...whichever comes first.

I didn't buy the 2.8 to become Speed Racer...the chip makes it plenty fun until I marry rich.

What kind of problem were you having with drilling the aluminum?

The drill wouldn't make a hole in it...it got so hot so fast that the bit just ended up polishing the shallow dent that I had made. Maybe I just needed to push down harder, but I was already putting a lot of pressure on it...enough that the wood beneath the metal started bubbling then smoking.

Next time, try drilling a smaller hole first and then the size hle you really want. Or, start by using what's called a center drill, they come is a bunch of sizes and drills a small pilot hole and a countersink at the same time. they might not be too easy to find though. Better off to just drill the smaller pilot hole.  Use some sort of coolant or light oil on it too. Aluminum will take a pretty high rpm. If you care,         4(cs)/d. A typical cs(cutting speed) for aluminum with a hss drill bit would be 200.
