well i had my t belt service done today, at 73,300 miles. they did the timing belt, tensioner, that other belt the water pump - i had requested the thermostat however they told me it had been replaced (according to their history) at 20,000 miles which was right before i got in January 2007 and yes i have put that many miles on in a little over a year. anyway, they covered the 75K miles service (with synthetic) as well and put new wipers on - this is at the Audi dealership, charged me a little under $613 for everything. and i got a nifty A6 loaner car overnight. I always get really good service from this dealership in Waterville, ME Thompson VW/Audi/Mazda. I always read so many negative things about 'stealerships' and I am sure I would run into the same south of here, however not all experiences are bad ones. I havent had much driving time tonight since i got the A4 back, but i have noticed that it starts quicker - it previously would crank for a while before turning over.
anyway just had to share.

Sometimes dealerships are a better alternative. For me I make sure that I've done my research on the net and made some calls before I decide to have my car expensively serviced at the dealership.

and even better -- today is a rainy wet day, and the $$ for my service included new wipers :) which were needed quite badly.
