i have the milltek catback installed on my 07 2.0t a3. I want to do the milltek DP this summer but my tech told me that milltek does not have a gd fit and that he's had problems with leaks. he recommends the ghl system. I heard milltek provides a putty to fill gaps during installation and my tech said he refuses to use it coz it looks like crap. anyone else come across this? Should I replace the whole system or get another dp not from milltek and install it with the milltek cat?

Hi Chusaiyan,
I went to my shop yesterday and asked about Milltek or Super Sprint. The shop I go to does tuning for Taiwanese race teams and the owner who I deal with has 20 years plus tuning experience for street and track.
According to him, he would not go with Milltek. As evidence, he had a fairly new Milltek system that he had just pulled out of a GTI and replaced with Supersprint. He said leaks are a common problem, and also the 'hum' at highway speeds, even with the resonator left in.
I'm still doing my research and trying to figure it out. I'd love to hear from people with first hand experience with Milltek. That said, the idea of having to use putty on a very expensive exhaust system does seem odd to me. I would think it should just fit. Let me know what you find out too!

Milltek exhaust sounds so weak on the A3/A4 its like stock with a hint of custom and its so damn expensive. Id look into AWE (www.awe-tuning.com) they have the best sounding exhaust ive heard in my opinion.
