I have recently bought a 2004 avant with multitronic. My PRDNS lights on the dashboard display have started flashing intermittently all together with a corresponding loss of power. This only lasts for about 30 seconds but there is no power take up and is potentially quite dangerous if I am pulling out of a junction! Before I take it back to the dealer I would like to know what is causing it, to avoid any Bull**** when I see them. Any help would be much appreciated.

You may want to check out NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation complaints database about this problem ==>

Although you probably won't find within their database why this happens, you will find out that you're not alone. Many, many Audi A4 owners have logged similar complaints, and I would find it hard to believe that the Avants problems differ greatly - if at all - from those of the A4.
