Has anybody ever heard of someone swapping the Audi Multitronic CVT to another vehicle, namely a 2003 Celica GT auto. I've read all about the multitronic and find the technology fascinating. I know it has all sorts of sensors which control the way the car talks to it. I would also probably have to use some sort of custom control unit on it as well. I appreciate any thoughts on this subject. Thanks.

I wouldn't think so, plus you don't want an audi CVT transmission, they only have problems.

really? all the things I've read about it in auto magazines seem really cool. I know CVTs can have problems, but is there a difference between the positive chain drive Multitronic CVT, and standard belt driven CVTs? If multitronics are prone to problems, I'm glad I asked. Out of curiousity, what kind of problems are you talking about?

Everything but the chain breaks.  Whereas the jap cars have only had problems witht he belt.  In any case that trans wont work without major modifications.  It relays on multiple signals from the ecm and abs to function properly.  Also just bolting the thing to your engine would be a chore.  If you really want a cvt, your best bet would probably be to swap a whole engine/trans from a car.
