Hey everyone, I'm in the process of doing a front bumper swap from my oem a4 front to an oem rs4 front. Ive searched and asked afew heads, but havent really found what i was looking for. Is there a thread that Ive missed or over looked that has a parts list and DIY guide like this page,
A4 to S4, for the A4 to RS4? I know someones got a list and i really need it so i can know and understand exactly what Im getting into as far as cost and supply of these parts. I know some cutting will be needed but how do i mount it? Any help and or advice will help. Thanks for reading.

the bumper should just bolt right up. now if you were gona do a full rs4 conversion, then there would be more extensive work.

an OEM RS4 bumper will not bolt right up...its meant for a widebody car so the bumper needs to be modified to fit the A4 lines

i have a replica rs4 bumper on my car. it was 25* out when i mounted it so its not on the correct way, but i used two 1/4" bolts in the front cause im gunna have a euro plate soon (or whenever the group buy act. happens haha) and on the side i just used two screws on each side and screwed it into the fender. the bumper feels like it will never move. the only cutting i had to do was to fit the FMIC. i havent done final fitting or body work on the bumper, but it took about 30mins for me to mount it how it is now. if it were the spring, i think i would have taken about an hour and a half to get the whole thing mounted perfect. (minus paint). hope that helps a little. oh and if you DIY, you should really start asking some friends w/ some free time if they can give u a hand, i wouldn't attempt this alone.

so basically what you guys are telling me is that outside of paying an obscene amount of money on my DD ( i want more go than show mind you ) to do the full RS4 look from the site listed above, i can either 1. buy an oem rs4 front and carve it up neatly and try to make it fit 2. buy a not so convincing ( atleast not to me) replica from reiger or other aftermarket rs4 front bumper with those phukn slits on the side ( can you tell i dont like them? )3. or i can buy an OEM S4 front bumper and carve that one up to look like the RS4...
How hard was this decision for any of you that did make the change? I mean, really, how much thought did you put into this?

didnt the real B5 Rs4's have the slits in the side of the front bumper?
I am just about 100% posative that the side vents on the reiger are identical to the rs4 vents....
just buy a reiger front bumper, they look amazing...
if you bought an OEM rs4 front bumper you'd prolly pay at least a grand, and then you woud ahve to cut the sh!t out of it and fiberglass the edges to make it flow with the A4 lines, or a shop would have to do it for you for another ~$500...
go for reiger, they look nice, and compared to oem/modification they are inexpensive....
well, gl!

you know what, your right, the oem rs4 does have the slits, but i still dont really like them for some reason. whats your experience with fitment and build quality of the reiger kit?

reiger is a bit expensive, but rthey are awesome quality/fitment and they look fu<kin amazing, especially when they are stuffed with a big a$$ FMIC

i honestly didnt even want the RS4 rep. bumper that i have but i couldnt find a s4 bumper quick enuf. it dosent look bad, and its growing on me, esp when i get stares from people cause i have the FMIC just sitting there. it looks pretty mean, and i cant wait to fit it right. i bought my kit from reiger and its easy to install if you have some free time. im not such a big fan of the side vents either (esp. cause i though i would be able to make them functional as break coolers, but they face the wrong way.) if i were you and i had time to decide what bumper to get, just keep looking around and see which one you like more, dont forget to look at sideskirts or at least painting your lowers, cause both bumper your looking at are lower then stock, and that can totally change the look of the car. my bumper needs side skirts cause i hate the look of a front bumper being lower then the rest of the car.

yeah im going with s4 sides, and may leave the rear as is, but if you guys think theres a good looking aftermarket rear, or even the s4 rear, LMK

im pretty sure the rear bumper is alomst the same right? the rear you can easily get away with just painting the lower part.

i would go with the s4 bumper with rs4 mod. i did it to mine. the rs4 conversion costs all of 20 bucks and looks better imo

there isnt anything you can really buy to make it bolt right up
take it to a body shop, it needs to be heated and molded to fit
unless you buy oem rs4 front fenders, but they your car will just look retarted with a front widebody

so... now to get an OEM B5 S4 front bumper and material to modify the 3 lower grills.
last thing... Is it me or is it real phukn hard to find a new K04 for under a grand? Or even a used one?
