How's it going, I just purchased a 2003 A4 and the dealer made it sound like changing the oil on this 1.8t is difficult. Does this require a special tool or are the parts (ie. Filter...) hard to acquire? Thanks...

No special tools required.
19mm wrench to take off the drain plug, and a filter wrench to loosen the filter.

It can be a little dirty though because the filter is mounted on the side of the engine over the subframe so oil tends to run all over the frame. What i usually do is get a couple of bags and wrap it around the filter to catch the oil from the filter. (Do this from above the car moving the coolant resivior aside)

Cool, that is what I thought by the quick look that I got at the dealership. Where is a good place to get the "Larger OEM Oil Filters"? Thank you for the quick reply...

5 quarts will be plenty.  It should use slightly over 4.
