Oil Temp

I'm just curious what the average Oil Temperature is. My Oil temp gauge is sometimes reading hotter than other times. It never goes past the midway mark though. Is this normal?

Yeah, its normal, as you race around the engine takes more stress and heat, which is then transfered to the oil and coolant, you have a built in oil cooler. so long as your not getting up around 275 degrees F. you really don't stand a chance of hurting the oil, the car on the other hand, Well what ever your doing to get it that hot. Ha. Well hope this helps.
