Outside temp-radio station etc don't display anymore

This is on a 2001 Allroad.

My wife noticed on her way home yesterday that the display in the gauge cluster stopped displaying the outside air temp--radio station--miles till empty--yesterday. The display itself works fine. I can see the "press brake" message, etc so I know the display is functioning properly, its just the signal from the other options mentioned above that wont display anymore.

I checked every fuse that appeared to be somewhat relevant and none were blown.

Any ideas/suggestions.........

On the underside of the winshield wiper arm ( Right side of steering colum ) there is a " on/off/reset" button. Press it once and I'd put money on it , everything will be fine.

Its actually working again now, I'd bet it was that simple. I'll test it later so I have a clue next time

We just bought this car and havent read all the way thru the owners manual yet.
