tell him dont ruin nice saab wheels, tell him a 9000 guy said that
and for your car no, personally i only like blacked out wheels on black cars(but not MOST saabs) very few black cars and black wheels look super sexy, but in either of your cases I wouldnt do it
just my 2 cents

haha i know i love blacked out wheels on black cars too but i just want an exterior mod to do and i love changing the wheels up. I think the wheels set off the whole car no matter what you do to them even if theyre just powdercoated.
and just for fun, for now..until i get real wheels instead of just painting/powdercoating the stock ones, i was thinking about painting the front calipers yellow, and the back ones green.
RASTA! hahah
and if its not too much effort my friend just wants to see what his saab would look like anyway.. i told him not to mess up his wheels either but he says just for the hell of it.

How do you do your wheel painting, vnv? I usually just set a black brush to like 85% opacity and paint over them...is that what you do?

no, i use the lasso tool, not the freehand on, but the one with individual lines, then i cope and past that layer and i go to the hue saturation menu and turn the lightness to o so its totally black, then in the layers menu I play around with the opacity untill it gets to the right level, then a quick hit of control+shift+e to merge the layers and your done

this way it doesnt make the space behind the wheel and rotor and all darker, and look chopped....imho the goal should always make it look like no one messed with the image at all, and u couldnt tell unless its side by side

plus kspark see in post nine where i did the saab wheels, see how there is still depth too the wheel and u see light reflecting and everything, you dont get that with a regular brush....now if im feeling lazy or the wheel is really complex what u can do is use the brush tool, but select "red transparent" spray i think its called and juct change the color to black and move the opacity down to say 15 and work like that, but if u have the time the hue saturation lightness reducing method with dual layers is the best....the only reason i use dual layers btw is so u can see the change in real time

ahahahahaaha that guy speaks truth. photoshop is so f'ing easy. it took me 20 minutes to chop a cts into a coupe (somewhat like an xlr) and also put a different backing to the car and everything.
get photoshop somehow (torrent maybe?) and go to

but for those of us who do not want to illegally download PS and don't have the $$$ to legitimately buy it, those on the site who do these quick 10mn chops are nice people, unfortunately Red_Sapphire89 you seem like a complete dickfor, IMO. I mean first you make a TT only chop thread (Kinda elitist IMO) and then all you do is yell at people because they don't follow your exact rules of how one should post for a wheel chop, not everyone has a 10megapixel camera that can give you DSLR quality shots, some people come one here so they can get a rough idea of how something will look, and all you do is complain.
Just my observation
and to the guy who posted his picks in this thread, please make your own and I'm sure someone will do the chop for you.
