Yo everyone, so I have a sad story to tell.  I was driving to a buddies house yesterday afternoon, doing the speed limit (imagine that), and going straight through a green light.  Coming from the other direction was another car turning left.  his view was blocked by a truck turning left from my direction, he assumed the path was clear, jumped out into the intersection, and then smash... we both swerved, i smashed right into his front quarter panel, he spun and ran into a snowbank, ended up tapping a light post.  after all was said and done, he was ok, and i got a nasty cut on the top of my head from the roof/visor that required stitchesand some wicked nose/lip/mouth damage from the airbag. so yeah, as if that wasn't bad enough, take a look at my car.  At least the other guy was 100% at fault... The insurance dude figured we could fix it, but i took some pics and took it to my uncle's autobody shop and we used a program he has for totalling up damage and cost estimates.  we came up with about 12k in damages.  Needless to say, insurance company is probably gonna call it a total loss.  B5 S4, here I come (that is considering they buck up and compensate me for missed work and school time, stress and suffering and those minor injuries.
Anyways, here's the pics;

I've seen way too many crashed a4 threads lately, and I hate to be another... but such is life.

the insurance dude said you could fix it? well with the right amount of money not problem but with both airbags poped, the insurance dude must have been tripping on something. personally, i'd let them total it, buy it back from them, part it out and thn buy an s4. sry for your lose man. no matter how good of a driver anyone can be, accidents can't be avoided sometimes. i hope the other guy is super sorry that this happened. make sure you take your guage that's installed in the vent if you plan on letting insurance keep the car. sry for your lose though, i hope better things happen this.

Sorry to hear about it, but like everyone said, thankfully the car is the only thing that died and you got out with only a few superficial injuries.  At least you were lucky enough to be hit by someone with insurance.  Seems like quite a few people I know personally that have been in accidents the last year or so, have been hit by people with no coverage and chances are, they're completely out of luck.  Keeping fingers crossed to see a post from you soon showing off your S4 though:)

yeah man, in british columbia, you cant drive without insurance, its not a private company, its a wing of the government...sort of... yeah, im not gonna buy it back and part it out.  used cars are ridiculously expensive in my neck of woods, i bought mine for 12,500 and that was a good deal.  most are around 13500 for the same year.  since icbc (the insurance company) gives you what your car is worth, and i dont think i can get 13 g's from parting it out, ima just let them have it and import an s4 from the states for hopefully about what im getting for mine.
and fastera4thanurs, that ****ing sucks, im sorry to hear that. these types of accidents are really sketchy... head on, blind, cant see it coming.  this was the exact same situation when i wrote off my 86 lude a couple years ago.  thankfully i wasnt going very fast at all when the dude pulled out in front of me and again nobody got hurt.

man that sux...looks like ti is time for a new car

your car is totalled, that is not a salvageable vehicle, that thing is going straight to a wrecking yard

the damage will cost more than what the car is worth for sure

hope you heal up alright

Glad your okay, sorry for your car loss. There seems to be crazier drivers everyday these days. Especially gotta hate those day's where in less than 5 minutes you did a dozen mistakes and managed to avoid small accidents like ditch, curbs, and steering. Light posts included.

Right on for the S4. How's the gas prices in your area?

Yo dude I'm sorry about your car. Glad you weren't too shaken up and will live to ride another day.
On a side note if you're getting a new car are you going to part out this one?
I wouldn't mind picking up a few pieces.

First off I am glad to hear you are fine.

But here is what i have to say...

Definitly try to total it. I went through the same thing. I worked 60hrs a week as a sophomore in HS to buy my 98 2.8l sport and 2 weeks after I got it my dad got into a crash with it. It wasn't entirely his fault but instead of totalling the car like we should and gotten the 11k (I paid 8900 for it) we got it fixed, and it has never been quite right since, don't get me wrong, still a great car, but there are small things you notice when you drive it everyday. My advice, total it, part it out and get an s4. I don't see anything negative about that besides the + insurance for the s4.
The car is amazingly solid, my it hit the passenger side and absolutely nothing happened to my dad. The door bent in and hit the power recliner, so my dad just started to lay down after it was hit, which was almost comical.

Agreed, man...but here's the thing, since the one company has the monopoly in this province, what they say goes.  If they write it off, then it's written off.  Yesterday they called me and said it's written off, so they made my decision for me! but its all good, cause i wanted it to get written off haha... now i just have to wait for them to finish assessing what it's worth and then bitch and complain and bargain until they offer more, and then wait for them to cut me a cheque. Then i can go get me an S4!
