Hi, I need to get snow cables for a 2006 A3. Does anyone know if the A3 has any clearance issues with cables?

Snow tires aren't an option for me because in the California mountains they require cables for snow no matter what kind of tires you have. No chains and they turn you around.

Even if you are 4 wheel drive? I have never gotten stopped in my A6, and I just run goodyears all year long (California and Oregon skiing.) But, the dealership sells cables for um (expensive)

Yes, a 4WD or AWD can get away without chains, but the A3 is front wheel drive.

Ooo my bad. Yeah the dealer sells cables. But with the clearance you have to be careful to not go out and get the cheapest fits all kind (according to the manual). Just get the dealer recommended.

3.2 is fitted with quattro and all season tires. My sales guy said it would not require cables. Also, TT and A3 quattro system is total different then A4, A6, and A8. From my research I found that A3 have the same system as Volve.
