Alright guys I'm looking to upgrade my stock/original clutch on my new project car and need some advice. I ran a Spec stage three on my old ride and found the pedal feel to be ****ing lame. I heard many wonderful things about southbend, too include 'free strippers with purchase', their relative stock pedal feel, and long term usage. I am looking for another stage three but wanted to get some input before I purchase... If anyone knows a good rep at Southbend please let me know. May the debate begin.

I've heard nothing but bad things about spec, and nothing but good things about southbend clutches.
You can PM
Jeff on audizine, he's who I talked to when I bought my sb stg 3. It's not installed yet so I can't tell you how it feels though.

Southbend uses better parts. I seen way more spec clutches eating themselves to make me want to use them

not a fan of my spec.... it has zero resistance to it compared to my old clutch... i think it was an ecs

Thanks for the input guys. I sourced a stage three kit here
http://www.dxdracingclutches.com/home.html but I believe it was an organic compound and I'm not sure if that is good or bad, any wisdom? Also wondering if the AWE kits -SB- are worth the $$$$$$$?

You can get that or the stg4 from kineticmotorsport.com. The stg4 is a 6puck if you want that. However the stg3 organic should last a bit longer

i have a SB clutch, even though i love it, it slipped very bad today, which means ill probably send it back, and get a stage 3 or 4 and pay the difference, since they have a warrentee.
but either way, ill stick with SB

southbend is actually having a 10% off deal right now. just need to talk to slayerrule on audizine. i got mine from him at a sick price.
if you could wait a while tho, there's gona be a new clutch coming out soon that is equivalent to the sb stage 5 and has stock pedal pressure

Well I'm going through Kinetic for the stage three setup without the flywheel though... Southbend, but I was wondering if the OEM/stock fly would be enough? Thinking of going aluminum even though you can't resurface, any options here would be helpful????????????

Well I got the clutch and 034 mount in today and the car rocks... Grabs nice and hard and it still has a stock feel to it, even though it is a stage 3... Southbend is by far the way to go for your 'performance' needs. I will write back in a week or so once it has broken in.

dont get a spec clutch!!!!! Never Never Never!!! they suck. I personally know of 4 different people with 4 different cars who have tried spec clutches and three of them have had significant problems to where the clutch had to be replaced again. it doesn’t seem like its a problem with the clutch but rather with quality control. i know they offer a guarantee but trust me you don’t want to replace you clutch and find out its bad and have to take it out again. its not like you can just pop it out and send it back to spec especially if you are paying someone to do the work.
