okay, i was thinking about doing the spark plug cables mod from
http://www.audiforums.com/m_131243/tm.htm but the only thing i need to know was do i need cables to begin with? i have wires. thin little wires that could be the cause of my car shaking when cold and running smooth when warm but the picture shows the guy taking the old cables off, but his were just that cables. my question... do i need cables in the first place to do this or can it still work with wires?

This Mod. is for a V-6 not a 1.8t.
If you have a 1.8t, you may have a bad
ignition coil. Have the codes read.

i know they're all good cause i've replaced the fuel injectors, spark plugs, AND coil packs, and it's still shaking on cold start. where can i get new spark wires? the codes that pop up are P0301,302,303,304 (misfiring in all the cylinders)

you might have a bad icm, what year is your car?
also it could be that one of your new coils is bad.... it happens

it's a 2000 A4 1.8T FWD. what's the ICM? is it expensive? it's been about 3 months and it's been sucking a LOT of gas while it's warming up and gas ain't cheap these days
