I have a 2000MY A6 2.4 Avant and am wondering what the small space beneath the CD changer tray behind the left hand rear wheelwell is supposed to be for. There is a moulded foam base which looks like something is supposed to be stored there but there has not been anything in it as long as I have had the car. Just curious really.

I believe it may be for the toolbox that originally came with the car.....not sure though?
