Why did I post this, you ask? Well, I am stuck between flying there or driving there. Flying would be cool because
I can relax and rent a car (and thrash on it! ) but driving would be a ****load cheaper and I could drive on the
closest thing to the autobahn (I-5). Im torn between them because in one hand; I can stay in an ok hotel, have
a Dodge Magnum to beat up, and be 30 minutes away from Disney Land (which would roughly be around $515 for the
flight, car, and hotel... not including tickets). With driving there, I only have to worry about gas, hotel, and tickets.

I found a tight hotel, right by Disney Land, for a damn good price. $129 for a suite, probably $140 for the 2 tickets
and maybe $40 for gas.

I cant make up my mind... I need second opinions!!

Have at it!!

Can anyone recommend hotwire.com? I am a little edgy about booking a room in an unknown hotel. The prices are crazy cheap!! Right now, Im looking at Ayres Hotel & Suites. That place looks pretty sweet.

Drive.

Road trips are always a good time to bond too. If you drive you can also put the extra money towards little extras: I.E: gifts, little surprises and add a little bit more spice to the trip. Consider doing some things along the way, stop at hearst castle, find some cool beaches along the way to visit, etc...

The 4-5 hour drive isn't that bad, considering you will spend at least 1-1.5 hours at the airport, another 1 or so for the flight, and then another hour for bags, rental car, etc... So that's 3-3.5 right there. you really only save 2 hours, is that worth the flight?

For sure. That what I was hoping... kinda road trip style. The nice thing too is I can save money for little gifts. I was planning on taking her to Medieval Times too. :) That should be damn fun!!

Woooo... cant wait. Dunno if I should rent a car.

If I drive my Audi, I will be putting miles on her that week and the next week (I will be driving to Tahoe for a wedding). All in all, it will be more than 1,000 miles. O_o

Hey - you could save the hotel and come stay at my place. I'm about 10 min's from D-land. You could sleeep in the back of my Avant.

I know they've got an Ayers Hotel at the corner of Chapman & State College in Orange - It's about 5 mi's from D-land. Looks nice on the outside. Used to be something else - now all fixed up.

Pfffffttttt. Drive the Audi dude. F the mileage. I drive 100 miles round-trip every day to work. Unless your car is unreliable drive the F'er, that's what why you bought it.

I drive my car alot. I just dont want something to happen, you know.

I have to pass on sleeping in the back of your car... but thanks for the offer.

So... I am driving down. Now its between my car, my dads Trailblazer, or a rented Dodge Magnum, Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder, or a Chysler 300. Those are the cheapest cars to rent that I would actually want to drive.

I vote for looks... Get the 300... And remember, rental cars are *specially* designed to go faster in each forward gear than regular cars, so jockey-shift that puppy. Oh, and "R" is for RACE!!!

Its going to be hard to pull off... especially since she doesnt believe me about the beach.

I will pick her up, drive for a bit then hand her the directions (as she is my navigator! :) she will read where we are
going and FREAK! Its going to be awesome!

i say drive...it's actually not as bad as everyone thinks it is..unless ure old an need to take a lot of stops or something..but i got down there in about 5-5.5 hours and we just stopped once for gas and to eat...but yeah..i'd rather save the money and spend it on the insanely expensive stuff at disneyland (ooohh...get the $6 bbq turkey leg..you won't regret it..it's soo good and it's like half the size of your face!) but yeah...do the drive man..and you HAVE to ride space mountain..i think it's officially reopened on the 15th..
