What the hell does this mean?

So have searched the forum high and low and still can't find what I'm looking for.....So, I come to you.  When I hit the "check" button there is a symbol that appears: it is a circle with "MPH" inside of it.  On the top left to the outside of the circle is a "1."  It keeps beeping at me.  What the hell does this mean?  I just bought it two damn weeks ago from a dealership!  grrr.....

It a speed limiter warning. You can set it for certain speeds so that if you exceed them, it goes off to warn you to slow down. Useless in my thinking. You can turn it back off. Look in the manual.

This showed up at the same time that my check engine light illuminated.  Could they be related?

Right before the CEL came on I took a corner kinda fast.  I briefly lost traction...could that be a cause? I'm not sure how/why the SLW is on...damn indicator lights!

The speed limiter has nothing to do with the cel. You can set it to 'off'.
