I guess it's time to update: a few months ago my friend and I were driving on the highway and decided to see how fast we could go before one of us got too scared (no traffic, 2AM). This was the perfect highway too, it has banked curves, wide lanes, and few cops. We hit 134mph according to my speedo at 6000rpms in 5th gear. I maintained it for about a minute and then set the cruise at 120.

192 MPH in 1997 Toyota Supra TT with almost nothing stock in it. T-76 turbo dyno at 832 hp. In japan going to the races down the freeway my boys pull up behind me and flash there lights, so i pull over to the side and they tell me that a local wants to race on the freeway first one to a certain spot wins. so i agree and we go back the other way and pull into a gas station and the local is driving a 1995 GTR R-34 and it looked mean as hell. so anyways long story short we were side by side until i hit about 180 and the dude backed off and i was thinking well crap im already going this fast might as well see how much more it has. hit 192 then i had to start backing off cause the speed cameras were coming up in like 3 miles and it takes a little bit to slow down going that fast. it was the best and stupidest thing i have ever done driving.

160ish, in my old 96 Cobra. It would've kept pulling but with 4.30s out back, the engine was screaming loud enough as it was and I didn't feel like overheating the damn thing. Now that I look back on it, I am no longer comfortable doing that kind of speed in a $27K car. God knows most Stangs get sketchy as hell at bonzai speeds.

It's not the fastest I've ever driven, but I went 90 past a state trooper this morning at a little after 7. No radar on. He must have been sleeping in his car. He never moved. I'm feeling lucky today.

The fastest I've ever driven is probably around 160 or so.

me and a porshe were cruising at 110 and past one cop and then past another 2 miles down the road we didn't even slow down don't think they were watching lol

Ummm... Maybe it was a European model, you know, with teh speedo in Kmh, not Mph

Maybe, but no 160mph with 4.60 rear gear unless it reves to 11k and has eight gears.

i have seen 140 in my audi and 170 on my bike. I would love to get to the 200 mph club some day

In my Audi, 125mph on the 73 toll road at the El Toro exit.

In ANY car would be 135mph in my 330i on the 5 south at about 3am.

If I have learned anything about speed, it is that there is more of a difference in the 10 mph between 120-130mph than there is for the 50 mph between 50-100mph.
Every little pebble makes you pucker and you are SUPREMELY focused on what you're doing.

As a sidenote, I've been pulled on the 5 north from San Clemente clocked at 107mph and he wrote me a ticket for "following too closely" instead.
That SOUNDS cool, but what he wrote me up for carries 4 points on your license and FUQS your insurance costs.

I've also been pulled on Moulton Parkway at 2am on a Sunday doing 104mph and the cop let me off because I wasn't drunk and I was 1/4 mile from my house.

I've been pull over after being clocked at 146mph. In a Honda Integra. Luckly the cop was a car guy. He let me go with a ticket for 85 in a 75. I was sweaten bullets the whole time.

140mph in my A3. Couldn't go faster cause the limiter kicked in.

My fastest is 120 mph in a 93' Ford SHO 3.8L V6 on the Southern State at 1:30 am when I had'nt slept in 3 days. I went that fast to wake up. It was a dumb thing to do but it worked. In my A8L I have only gone 100 mph on the Northern State 11:30 pm. I want to go for a 130 in my Audi but where I live long streches of road w/out state troopers are hard to come by. LOL

Move to CA.....

The entire state is a long strech of road w/out state troopers.

Until you get used to doing it. Half of the sensation and focus of driving 130 is that fact that it is illegal. If you take that out, and routinely drive at 130, then fairly quickly it becomes like driving 75. At that point you need a damn vag to remove the governor. damnit!!

Oh, also that, regardless of how impossible you thought it was to do, when you NEED to, you CAN force it INTO 1st when compression braking, to help you slow down...

I've done 135 in my Audi.

I've done 140 in a 03 turbo Si which really isnt that cool except we were racing a 2000 Mustang gt. WE were recording it and i got the bright idea to hang out of the sunroof for the race. YOu know how hard it is to get back into a car at 140mph. We killed the mustang even with me slowin us down. I'll see if i cant find the video and put it on here.
