Yeah,
www.onlinecarstereo.com has the 500/1 for 430 and the 10W6v2 for 299... so thats 730 for BRAND NEW stuff... you shouldn't have a problem in the used market.

cool, thanks again headshok, i guess i'll stick with a 500w....not sure if i'll be able to go with the jl amp though, i was hoping to keep the cost below 500 for the sub and amp...i might go with an alpine 500/1 amp, with the w6 10"....the box i guess i'm going to make myself, to save space...

So, Bent, what did you end up getting anyway?

i decided i didn't want to spend close to a grand for bass, so i went with a RF punch series sub and amp combo...my brother just got a truck though and he can't fit his 12 behind the bench seat, so he's trading me my RF 10 for his JL 12W0

Sounds good. I'm no audio expert, but I know what you were talking about (a year ago) about wanting punchy bass and not some vehicle vibrator. I've got a pair of 8in subs mounted in the floor directly behind driver and passenger seats in my 911 and it has great punch and this bass is pretty much contained in the car. This install kept me from having to remove the rear seats, keeps the system stealthy and it actually kicks your ass while driving down the road. I would think that a pickup could have a similar style install right behind the driver's seat. Anyway, all that to say that I am impressed with small dedicated subs for punch/clarity over the larger subs I've owned in the past.
