Vibration on acceleration
#21
I just purchased a 2004 allroad with 114,000miles. I drove approximately 900 miles to bring it back to Albuquerque. It drives smooth on the freeway. No shakes, rattles, vibrations when I drive it. However, when I come to a complete stop and begin to accelerate, the car vibrates for few seconds and goes away. The person who I bought it from told me that they took the front drive shaft apart and replaced the bushings. He also told me that the vibration was normal due to the front axle being "locked" up. I would appreciate any comments.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Vibration on acceleration
I have the same problem on my 2003 A3 cabrolet V6 3.0L. Took it to the dealer and they cleaned the throttle body, but that didn't help. Then they wanted $1000 down to take apart my engine to investigate. I felt like I was starting to throw money at the problem with no guarantee, so I didn't go that route.
I tried Fuel additives to clean the injectors. Seemed like problem went away for 1 month. Then it came back.
Seems to run good at first then after the car warms up it starts to shake under load.
Another mechanic this week said it was my right control arms. Does that make sense to anyone?

I have a similar issue: the car vibrates when I accelerate from a complete stop. Usually, it happens when I accelerate heavily when I need to get into the next lane. It doesn't happen during soft accelerations. I have had work done on Front Driver/Passenger Control Arm bushings. Some replies have suggested it could be related to this. My guess had been the transmission, but I hope to god it's not.

Vibration on acceleration
I had a tyre develop a blister last year , which made a slight vibration then a heavy shuddering , pretty obvious easy fix . But this year I felt a much lighter vibration in the steering wheel ,which developed into a stronger vibration especially on acceleration , suspected the engine mounts .
Two weeks ago took it in to "Ali" a VW specialist here in Houston off Hwy 3 near NASA (rd) .asked him to change the 5 mounts ,and it's as smooth as silk now.
You could feel the vibration in the steering wheel, absolutely still now

Hey guys, has anyone figured out what the vibration on acceleration cause was? I have an A3 2004 2.0 FSI (Auto) and there is a bad vibration during acceleration at around 80kpm, especially going uphill.
I replaced left inner and outer CVs to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

My 2014 has been doing it for a few months now. I thought it was a misfire so I replaced all the ignition coils and plugs...NOT it. Driving it today, I am positive it's the same as a bad U-joint because it only does it under tension. I'll be taking a close look underwent this weekend, checking for U joints and CV joints... In the meantime, if anyone has a solution, please reply.
