Question for ya, I have a 99 A6 2.8 quattro. problem is when I opened the moonroof it wouldn't close . When turning the switch it only closed a 1/4 of the way. had to manually close it for now. I Had recently changed the batteryhhmmm. Don't know if this had anything to do with it but you never know with the computor. Is it a faulty switch or something else? Has anyone had the same problem? No fault came up on the Vagcom program I have. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Most likely it's the switch, you could try removing it from the housing and cleaining the contact point inside the switch itself, there is a DIY for the A4 here http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec109.shtmlthe switch in the A6 is different but it can be used as a point of reference, hopefully this will help you, I did that to mine and it worked for about a week, now my switch I gone and I have to get a new one.

 

Thanks for the post Fernandus, I took it apart carefully and Q-tipped the contacts with contact cleaner then pulled contact out a bit for better contact. Worked perfect.
