When my wife and I were planning to buy our Audi A4, we ended up going to Beverly Hills Audi on Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills, CA for two reasons. One, it was the closest to us, and two, because we used the AAA no-hassle price program, and BH Audi was the Audi dealer in the area that participated.

I must say that before we even drove over there, I was expecting them to be somewhat snobbish since it was in Beverly Hills. When we drove by, we passed up the place at first, then finally found it. It's a pretty small place, and shares the lot with BH Porsche. The lot itself is filled to capacity with Audis and Porsches, and I would say that it had about 25 Audis and Porsches in the lot, with about 2 Audis and 4 Porsches inside on display. It looked pretty small, but we were told later thatmost oftheir inventory is in a garage across the street.

When we parked in the lot, we were ready for the snobbery to begin. We had an appointment with Solomon Arvatz, and as soon as we met him he was extremely personable, and made us feel at home with no pressure. I have been car buying before, so I know what salesmen are like when they really want a sale, but I did not get the usual saleman type impression from him. He asked us what our interests were, and asked what in particular we were looking for. We were pretty prepared, so we already had a car in mind. There were many points where he probably could have convinced me to get some option that I would regret having got later, but he did not take advantage of those opportunities. He looked on the computer to see if the car we wanted was available, but there was only one in the whole state with exactly what we wanted on it. This was a Saturday, and he explained that if we wnated that car, he could probably get it to us byMonday at the latest since the car was in NoCal. We decided to test drive an A4 that was equipped the same, but it was Black ext./Beige leather int. which was a different color on the exterior and interior than what we were looking for. He first offered to let us drive the car for the weekend and see how we liked it, but we requested to drive it then instead. We drove the car, and I was very impressed. As soon as I saw the Black/beige, I fell in love with it and soon forgot the color that I intended to get, but he never pressured us to take that car. We ended up actually taking the car that day and financing through Audi Financial which actually gave us 2% lower than any other place. The price was no haggle $900 over dealer invoice which was right at our target price. We were even able to get a little more out of our trade in than we originally thought.

When we went to write up the paperwork, I expected the contracts guy to start trying to sell all the extra warranties and undercoating and butt-scratchers that were available, but all he did was mention them and ask if it was something we're interested in. When I replied no, he just moved on. After the contract was signed, I mentioned what I expectedd him to do when we walked in, and he explained that they had a no-hassle/no-pressure policy, and that they will not try to push something on people that they do not want.

All in all, I would highly recommend Beverly Hills Audi. Even though they have some very expensive cars on their lot, and they are in Beverly Hills, they are not snobbish at all, they don't pressure you into buying things that you don't want. They give good prices, are very flexible and helpful, and want to make sure that you have the car that you want, not the car that they want you to have.
