My mom is looking into getting a new car, she owns a company that does high end security and she wanted a big car, shes always had big cars like Vics and stuff liek that. and she really liked 01 bmw 740il but she wanted allwheel drive so i said A8, and she really likes my car but wanted bigger. so what should i be looking out for at mileages, is it the same as the A4s with timing belts and control arms? any feedback on this would be great.

She likes Crown Vics and BMWs but she said the A8 was too small and she wants bigger? The A8 is larger in almost every category than a Crown Vic, and very comparable to a 740. If the rear legroom is a problem tell her to look at an A8L.. its better than a BMW and definitely a Crown Vic in almost every category.

 

I have an 01A8l and a 99 A8 and have nothing more than reguler maintnance on them. A few little cosmetic problems associated with any 5 - 7 year old cars. Let here drive one and she will surely be happy, I can't quote specs, but I am sure you will notice a better response and drive than the 740, I was unimpressed with it. As for the Vic, nothing needs to be said.
