automatic fluid change
well i like no mechanic to touch my cars unless i am watching ever step, since that aint going to happen. can anyone tell me the right way to change the fluid in my 97 audi a4 fwd. it doesn't have the dip stick. i read once how to change it but i can't find where i found that info. So can anyone please tell me the process on how to change it and what i need to by and where?thanks
Not in the manual.
If you are not mechanically inclined, I'd take it to a VW/Audi mechanic and have him do it. The car has to be perfectly level, the fluid at the correct temperature and you have to put the fluid in from under the car. Just too much of a pain.

i am mechanicly incline i know i can do it i just like to go over the steps. well since everyone is all about sending it somewhere. what do u guys think about sending it to a transmission place like amcco? and how much does it cost to get it done, around?
I would take it to a dedicated VW/Audi mechanic. The dealer will be expensive and transmission shop techs like Amcco aren't trained specifically in Audi transmissions. Besides, if you find a good independent mechanic, they should be good for other Audi jobs too if you find yourself in over your head.
I went to AUDI about 2 months ago to get mine changed they said that for my car ( 99 2.8 Q Tiptronic) that it is a "sealed" unit and that you cannot change it.
I dont knwo why they would say that and everyone on these forums are saying they can change it. I dont get it, I want it done to my car, yet AUDI said it cant be done because of the "sealed" unit.
Anyone else know what I am talking about? Has anyone else got the same reply from AUDI before?
Also, I have read threads of people "cleaning their throttle bodies". I really dont know what this is so could someone please post a link explaining what it is and how to do it if neccessary.
Thanks Guys
