20" wheels
Greetings! I hope this message finds all of you well. I just got a 2005 A4 (Sport package, FWD) last Friday and I was hoping someone could help me with some info. I am thinking on putting a set of: 20x8.5s. I don't want the wheels to rub on the fender and am not sure what offset would be best (ET35 OK?). Thanks in advance for your help and more power!
35mm offset is what you want, and you'll definitely have to roll your fenders with 20s...and you'll probably still get some rubbing in sharp turns or if you hit a bump with the wheels turned at all
Thanks for your input, but I don't think this Avant with 20's look silly. http://www.fourtitude.com/gallery/ga...=&dispsize=600

Welcome to the forums!!
What was said above is true... dont expect to take this to the track anytime soon with rims like that. We are just giving you our opinions, take them or leave them. If you want a show car, you headed in the right direction... but if you want a track ready car, this is not the way to go.
BTW: Im rolling on 18's and even those are pretty big. [&:]

You would seriously feel the weight of 20" wheels... your braking distances would lengthen dramatically, your cornering would go out the window, and off the line would be a chore to get those monsters rolling. I honestly wouldnt doubt a decrease in fuel economy... I put 18's on my old Mk3 VR6 golf, and I noticed immediately that my off-the-line performance went out the window, and didn't take me much longer to realise that my braking was a lot worse than before. It still handled almost as well, but I can only imagine the stress the wheels put on suspension components designed for use with a 15" wheel.
If you spend 1K a wheel, you can get light 20's... I dunno, seems like a lot of work. I'd go 19's if you're after bling... that way you can lower it without worrying... and my god, you'd better lower.
