Hello, i have an a3 1.8 (no turbo) and was wondering how much power (and how to get it) can i get out of the engine????
Can anybody share their experience?
Maybe there is a good place that does it???

hmmm where are you from? i never heards of a audi 1.8L engine without a turbo. How much horsepower do you have right now? Because i bet that you could fit an K03 or K04 turbo on there no problem. giving you lots more power. get back to me on your specs and such.

Hello, thanks for the reply....i live in the Netherlands. I have an A3 1.8 without turbo...125HP ....from what i understand from people talking..its exactly the same as 1.8T engine but without the turbo.......audi produced the 1997 A3 here at least in 1.6, 1.8, 1.8T and S3. Its prety good as it is...but i would like some extra power....
Would appreciate some help on right turbo and any further mods possible....

well if your engine is the same as the 1.8T without the turbo, then it shouldn't be a problem at all to drop in the k03 turbo (which comes stock on the 1.8T) and get a chip for it which would put you 200 HP range, or you could get the K04 (stock off the TT) which chipped would give you mega power

Hi, so what is best....i think i like the idea of K04 plus chip....do you know what the approx price is?
Would i need to make any further mods? or just turbo (+parts) and chip?
I shall go ask a mechanic about fitting it etc.......

i have no idea what the price for the turbo itself would be. but im guessing the chip would be about $500 GIAC makes a good one for the k04
