Default Magnaflow question

Hey all I was looking into replacing the stock mufflers on the A4 when I get it (hopefully). From searching I see the muffler of choice is the 14851 race muffler from magnaflow. Wondering why everyone leans on this instead of some of the "street series" they have at magnaflow. Has anyone tried the latter, the one I saw looked identical was 14829. I'm really going for a good clean/deep sound not rice garbage Only planning on adding mufflers for now since there is really no bolt on 3.0 kits. Also just to confirm, stock piping on these is 2.25? So I can get these mufflers and bolt on as necessary? thanks!

Is it worth it to get a custom cat back 2.5? I know its barely any hp gains, I'm really just looking for the sound. That would be a few hundred easy, just wondering if its worth it..I cant find the 14851's for less then 140; that what most of you are paying?

It depends on if you have a 2.8T or 1.8T. The 1.8T would benefit from 2.5" piping while the 2.8L would just get a pinch louder using bigger pipe.
