Default HELP.. TECH GUYS IN HERE 02 audi 1.8t prob...

ok heres my situation, i was driving my 2002 audi a4 1.8 turbo 2 days ago, maby driving for 30 min on the highway, then get off and sit at a light and all of asudden the car starts bogging like it wants to stall, but it dosent, maby gos on for 3 min then check engine light comes on and i turn the car off and let it sit for like an hour. then drive it and its fine????? i was thinking a coil maby. then today it happened again, it only happens when the car i guess is fully hot arounnd 30 - 35 minutes of the car being on. it only seems to happen when the car is either being driven on side streets at low speeds or at ideal. what do u guys think? i was thinking maby it bogging b/c its not running on all 4cyl b/c of a bad coil???? but if that was it then wouldnt it not go away? like it would be constant?

now that the light came on its on now, but the problem only happens when i stated. now u say get a code for it but that would mean i would have to hook it up to a diagnostic machine. i was tryin to avoid bringin it somewhere if i could fix it my self, maby this was somthing common or someone had this happen to them. thats why i asked here 1st before i bring if somwhere

take ur car to autozone advance tell them u need a scan. They will do it for free. It probably is a coilpack and u can order someone at the stealership or ecstuning. Make sure to get the revised brembi or hitachi e coils bolt down.

Like Pa4ul says, Auto Zone will do it for free, you don't have to spend an Arm and a leg to get it checked.

A lot of people keeps spare coils, apparently that's a common prob with our cars.
