Thumbs down CVT deathbed

02 a4 1.8t non q, CVT 101000miles

so at stop lights when i let my foot off the break and go to give it gas, and not like hauling *** acceleration, but normal traffic moving forwardness. the rpm's go up to 2000+ before the transmission engauges. and i understand this can be "somewhat" normal but my transmission jerks like i dont know how to drive a standard car. it revs up then dumps into 1st gear. im assuming, and hopefully assuming wrong, that it could be the 1st-2nd gear clutch pack dieing. i hope im wrong, that would suck. if any one has had this problom or something like it let me know. it would be appriciated.

p.s. this is the last automatic im ever going to buy. EVER!

As much as I hate to say it...it sounds like your CVT is on its way out.
