For sale, in Melville New York, is a 1998 A4 2.8 Quattro, w/ Sport Package (nice steering wheel). Color is White exterior with White/dark blue interior & wood trim. Around 119k miles on the car. Auto tranny. Totally bone-stock except a Flip-Screen in-dash DVD receiver which is included with the car. The car comes complete (we are not parting anything out).

The main problem with the car is that the Automatic Transmission has failed. First it would not go into reverse, and a week later it failed completely and does not go into gear. The car starts and engine runs fine, just cant drive at all. Body is in pretty good shape with no major damage, interior is good except for a couple small things, rip in drivers seat and also passenger side-impact airbag in the seat is deployed from my brother skidding into a curb (happened 1 year ago and did not do any other repairs... probably needs alignment). The thermostat and oil pan were recently replaced.

this is a long shot, but i'm looking to buy either an A4 or jetta within the next 2 months or so and not sure how long you plan on keeping the car..but was wondering if you'd take 2700 with a different tranny put in from a garage?

 

We are not fixing the transmission so make an offer for what it is. I will consider anything above $1,000.
